Best Time to Visit: October to March, and especially during Ram Navami and Amavasya
Entry Fee: No fee for temple or ghat visits
Timings: Most temples are open from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily
Key Attractions and Highlights
Ram Ghat: This is the most iconic and spiritual place in Chitrakoot, situated along the banks of the Mandakini River. Pilgrims take holy dips and participate in the serene evening aarti, creating an atmosphere of peace and devotion.
Kamadgiri Parvat: Believed to be the heart of Chitrakoot and a representation of Lord Ram himself, devotees perform a parikrama (circumambulation) around this sacred hill for blessings and fulfillment of wishes.
Bharat Milap Temple: This sacred spot marks the place where Bharat met Lord Ram during his exile and begged him to return to Ayodhya. The emotional essence of brotherly love and dharma can be felt deeply here.
Sati Anusuya Ashram: Located in a serene forest area, this is the ancient ashram where Sati Anusuya performed severe penance and where Lord Ram visited with Sita and Lakshman.
Gupt Godavari: A pair of mysterious caves where it is believed that Lord Ram and Lakshman held secret meetings and lived for some time during exile.
Hanuman Dhara: A steep hill where a stream of water continuously flows from the rocks over a statue of Lord Hanuman – a divine site filled with spiritual energy and scenic beauty.
